Maybank Group entered into a partnership with Palawan Pawnshop, a pioneer Philippine pawnshop established in 1985, as an additional payment outlet for Maybank Money Express (MME) remittance to Filipino OFW beneficiaries effective March 1, 2012.

Maybank Money Express (MME) is the banner product of Maybank in Malaysia which provides real time cash-to-cash transfers or remittances.

OFW beneficiaries can claim their remittances at any of the 695 Palawan Pawnshop branches nationwide, which are open during weekends and holidays with extended office hours. Palawan Pawnshop also announced the opening of 90 additional branches within 2012 bringing the total branch network to 785 nationwide. Beneficiaries simply present the reference number of the remittance and two (2) valid IDs to claim the funds sent through MME.
